If you take a picture of it and take it to the judge theres a high chance it will be dropped. I have fairly dark tint and have never been bothered for it. I drive a SUV though, it seems cops are more lenient on us then passenger cars. Like someone else said though... why are your fronts darker than your rears?

I was in the same situation as you last summer. I got pulled over once in July after having the same tint on the car for 5+ years. Be prepared, if you don't take off your tint, to be pulled over non-stop until you take your tint off. I got pulled over 3 times after that first time within 2 months, and just got fed up with it and took the window tint off the front windows. BTW, im from Warrenton as well.

Guess I've just been lucky so far. I've been running around NoVa for 7 years (last 3 in Warrenton) with about 5% tint on my Z and 35% on my MR2. Only tint ticket I got was on 29 in Culpepper in the MR2, but it was the same time I got a reckless for 20+ over. Got a lawyer and he got the tint ticket dropped and the reckless reduced to speeding.

suv's and van's have different standards on the back glass than passenger cars have, the windows at the front doors are still 50%.

When I first got my car tinted I wanted to go 20% all the way around, but the shop that did it recommended that I get 20% in the rear and 35% on the front to just to lighten it up a little bit.

I guess I am going to get it fixed, and get it done with legal tint on it now.

Step 1: Go to DMVs website and print out the medical waiver sheet.

Step 2: Go to the eye doctor, have them fill out the medical related section of the form and mail it to the Richmond office.

Step 3: In a month or so you should recieve special registration cards for the vehicles listed on the waiver.

Problem solved.
There is still a tint level restriction with a waiver, but 98% of the time the cop won't even check after they see the registration. Even if you are below the waiver limit, I find it unlikely they will write you due to having a documented medical condition and your chances if you file suit for being harassed based on that.

Idiot.
LOLOL...I have been pulled over three times here in VA Beach. It sucks, but you got your stuff tinted illegally in the first place. It is only 90 bucks..unless you dont pay the fine, then you get your license suspended. End up paying a 136.90 bill to some law firm that represents the City of Virginia Beach, then hustling to the court house at 3:59 (they close at 4) and getting a DMV release to reinstate your license, THEN on top of all that, you get to pay $85 to have your license reinstated..

Just went through alll that today!!
