If I know their screen names, sometimes I will. Like most people, the victims want to be cautious, and are unsure if it is a legit PM. Especially if they are a victim in another jurisdiction like York Co.

I have assisted York County with a few cases in the past. When I have given them good info, they have made arrest. We charged this one guy in NN and got info that led to an arrest in YC.

Welcome! It's nice to see that someone on the NNPD actually seems to care about us. If I ever have a problem or hear of anything, I'll be sure to let you know. I live in Williamsburg, but they seem to be pretty good about that kind of stuff. I guess not that much happens in Williamsburg, so they actually have the time to investigate these incidents.

Did you have anything to do with busting that groupe of guys stealing the Cat-Converters recently? They(or someone similar) hit my dealership last year for 30-40 of them in one night. They were all off brand new SUVs, and Vans.

No I think that was Portsmouth PD. we have had some catalytic converter thefts in NN as well. One of our auto theft investigations did lead to discovering the Burglary suspects from Powhaten Plantion (18 flat screen tv's) in James city. These were some of the same suspects involved in Honda/Acura thefts in the Hampton roads area.

I've heard of people getting in trouble for shooting there own tire out during thefts...surely its illegal to shoot the thief.
