didn't ask but i guess that would be a good place to start. i know the ones made in canada are fake. do they have any made in the us? or is it just japan? where would i find it on the seat where it was made?

Ask to see the certificate. Rails have pink certs and seats have blue certs.
Also there are stickers on the seats and rails.
