posting this for my shop class teacher. he has a 91 240sx with HUD. the speedometer does not work, but everything else does. he's had reputable shops check the tranny sensors and they checked out. can he just switch out that cluster for a non hud? will it just plug in?

ive never dealt with hud clusters so i have no clue. thanks,

ive had this problem before... yeah he can use an analog cluster, he needs the analog harness also... ive heard its just capasitor that goes bad in the hud clusters, he could take the cluster to a auto electric place an have them replace that

 

damn!! so he needs to score a analog harness that mates with the ecu behind dash? ill let him no. some local junkyards want to charge him 250.00 for a hud cluster. that seems kinda of high

yep all he need is a cluster from a 91- 94 an this harness


only bad part is now he will have the projector in the dash for no reason, but hes just a shop teacher that might not bother him...junk yards are rip off when it come to electronic shit like that i hate it

 

hes trying to sell it, so he wants the speedo to actually work. thanks for the info.
