to break it down further, you post an article saying that the exhaust tips are functional as proof that 1.1 was wrong, but only 2 posts ahead of you he said that they were in fact functional.

and further...

You seem to be defining 'connected' obscurely. Or maybe you think 1.1 is suggesting that theres a 5 foot gap between the exhaust and the tips. I don't know anything about this exhaust other than what's been said in this thread, but here's how I understand it. the tips are mounted in the bumper, and the exhaust basically slides into them or something. 1.1 can correct me if I'm wrong, but you cannot. You do realize that he's a lexus tech and pretty much has to know this kind of stuff? You're just some dude with Google. It seems silly to me to even bother trying to argue about it.

To summarize, don't accuse others of having poor reading skills when that is the very thing that you makes you...

(yes, I am on 1.1's nuts, and no I will not get off them)

tips are definately mounted to the bumper but you can no longer put your hand btween them and the exhaust. Clear enough?

HAHA, epic fail? No sir. Go drive one, then tell me "epic fail".

Isnt the new M3 supposed to run .2 slower in the 1/4 mile? I may be mistaken, but I thought I heard that somewhere. Besides, I forgot that 1/4 miles is the ultimate way to judge a car. To argue this though, you have to realize it is still a Lexus. The customers still want the navigation, the soundless, high quality, heavy interior, other things that make this car, still a Lexus.

I would say comparing the IS-F to the new M3 is going to be like comparing new sportbikes in similar cc's. There will always be different opinions on which is better, but fact is, they are both very close in comparision.

16/23mpg isnt bad for a car producing that much power in my opinion, and dont blame that on the INCREDIBLE 8 speed transmission. There are a million other factors that determine gas mileage, #1 being the driver's ability to not drive like a jackass. The factory rep that came through here with a demo claimed the only vehicle to shift faster with paddles is the Enzo (vehicles currently being sold on the market right now).

I dont know, Im not going to defend this car anymore. Ugly? I can see someone saying that. But to say the car is an epic fail, with never driving it, I think thats a stupid bench racing comment. Go back to reading your magizines..

This car fails period... epic.. the 1/4 is shit.. look at 03 cobra 390hp way faster and about 200lbs more.. the new M3s are poping off 12.7's .. the car has an 8 speed tranny and cant get 25mpg.. are you serious.. the weight distro is HORRIBLE.. to be a success it had to bring something to the table that no other car has.. its slower, handles worse gets horrible gas milage for a car with 8fwd gears ????BBQ?? If someone goes for a test drive this is what they are gonna feel
ISF Lateral acceleration 0.91
M3 Lateral acceleration 0.97

Again nothing about this car is great when compared to other similar cars.

Again, your points STILL do not suggest an 'epic fail'. How long has the M3 been around? This is the IS-F's first year, and I would say its not doing too bad.

12.89 @ 111.66mph from a stock IS-F owned by a CL member.

Come on, a 12.89 isnt bad by a long shot, be honest.. Its not the same as comparing to a cobra. Not only that, but the cobra isnt like driving a Lexus in any shape, or form.

Reguarding the E92 M3, Edmunds quotes: "If the engine output of 414 hp seems comparatively tame in this era of proliferating 600-hp cars, the performance of this athletic 3,704-pound coupe is spectacular, and the EPA estimates a reasonable 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway consumption outcome. (We observed 16.2 mpg in our testing.)"

And this guy reports an average of 17.6mpg in his E92 M3 after 4,000 miles of driving.

I really dont see how your claims of shitty MPG are justified on the IS-F. Any performance vehicle isnt going to get amazing gas mileage. If thats what you want, you need to start looking at civics, accords, lancers, ect ect ect..

Weight distribution: No, 70/30 is shitty distribution, 54/46 is not. Most people claim 50/50 is over rated anyway. Either way, you have never driven the vehicle, so your claim doesnt really matter.

I still dont see your point. You are going completely off of (probably tainted) magizine claims in some attempt to claim 'epic' fail on this car you really dont know much about, nor have even driven.

Im not saying the car is a land slide better than any other, but the car is far from shitty. Its a first time Lexus has brought a serious contender to the plate, I would say they arent doing too bad for their first go 'round.

Fuck.. Why am I still arguing.. you have no point or facts to back up what you are trying to suggest...
