And why is that? They also do VaDriven/DragVA soccer games, pick up basketball, etc. I don't see anything wrong with it, and I think many of my friends from the forum in those areas would gladly join in if they were closer

I've played lacrosse a few times but never on what would be considered a seriously competitive level. Hell, I'm down for just about anything.

Did I tell you I went to Cardinal in hopes of picking up a new bike? I rode three mtb/hybrid's and wasn't terribly satisfied with any of them. It really made me realize just how out of shape I am now... LOL! Just a few years ago I could have ridden all day and probably barely broken a sweat. I rode through the neighborhood behind the shop and was dead tired by the time I got back.

I don't care what we do. Wiffle ball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse.. I'll do it all. I don't care. I just want to be outside more when I'm not stuck behind the computer at work. It could be fun!

Lacrosse would be fun but it requires too much to actually play. You need to have the net/goal and all the equipment, and for most guys on here I doubt they have any/or all of the necessary stuff.

On the other hand, with soccer, you just need 4 cones, a ball, and some shoes...not even cleats.

There are plenty of parks that still have goals set up so you technically really don't even need cones. I'd prefer to play with a full sized goal, but it doesn't matter to me.

I completely agree. But i'm just saying, worst case, you can even use shoes, cones, shirts, etc. Whereas it'd be hard to do that with lacrosse. River's Edge is a cool place, now that they've started working on the fields.

You just need to get some seat time. The next Tuesday you have free let me know. We do a Tuesday night ride that goes up Mill Mountain, but there is also what they call a "flatlanders" ride. Goes through downtown Roanoke and down some of the greenways. That would be a good one for you to start with.

Riding a mountain bike on the road is going to kill you no matter what. Even when I had my 23 pound racing mountain bike, it was work on the asphalt. Hybrids aren't much better. If you want to ride on the road, ride a road bike. I have a couple now so you are welcome to ride one of mine.

I personally own 4 goals. I coached Cave Spring's girls team for 7 years, and their boys team for 2 years before that.
