b20 vtec ???????
I have (or had) a b20v that made 192whp with the 'shaved head' ghetto method, and I can tell you right now that it is not the way you want to raise your compression. Get aftermarket pistons and run a regular thickness headgasket or you will be disappointed, among other things. I'm now rebuilding the engine (no thanks to some poor assembly work) with RS machines pistons and guess what, the head that's been milled to hell is nearly useless due to static compression and clearance problems.
alright so what i gather so far from the internet is and other forum is to go with a b16 head since im gonna port polish.. and since im gonna go with a port and polish it pointless to do it on a itr ctr gsr since at the end of the port and polish it gonna have the same flow/better bascially from goning with a b16 head ported. other than the cam and lifter that would need to replace on the b16 head to get the max performace out of it . and this should be the most cost effective way to get the most hp and torq out of the head with good performace and reliablity. and just buy an after market intake mani for more flow to the head .

you're thinking way too much into this
get any head you can find (b16,itr,gsr). have it ported. buys springs, ret, cams. Your LMAs should be fine. buy an aftermarket intake manifold. Be happy.

Get a B16 head port and polish it get a skunkII intake manifold and make damn sure you put a protector around your bottom end they can be weak get the arp head studs and you should be able to push 8000 RPMS with no issues as long as you change your oil every 2000 miles be careful and make sure you have an oil pressure gaguge!!

wow, posts like yours are exactly the reason people have misconceptions about LS VTEC setups.
the fuck tard who was talking about head studs, the guy aint boosting so he dont need it and he can take it to 8 now without problems and he wont need an oil pressure gauge if the damn thing is put together right.
