Default Are my teeth going? A/T

So as of late my camry feels like it slipping on second gear. I can get first upto 5200~ and third upto 5000~ but in second it gets upto 4800 and feels like it tries to shift up and misses or throw itself down and gets retarded(it revved upto the fuel cutoff today =[)

Any help is greatly appreciated so thanks =D

if it has provision to do so, does manually putting the stick in the various gears produce said gear? or do the gears go to neutral? If one of the gears is neutral then it could be something in the valve body or severely burnt clutch packs, if it's just flaring really bad, then it is probably worn clutches. Could also be weak pump failing to properly pressurize the drums and/or valve body.

Just throwing this out there, anyone else think it could be the torque converter?

No. This is not typical behavior of failing torque converter.

if it was the torq converter then u would be leaking fluid every where in all my exp with them . you check the fluid when the car is running not when its hot to know the proper lvl of fluid to go into the tranny . sound like not enough fluid or to much fluid . by the way what type of fluid are u using to put into the tranny ? try taking the overdrive off and running it that way and see what happens

Converters don't usually leak I think it is the pump seal you are thinking of.

Teeth... hehe

The only thing with teeth in your forward gears would be the planetary gear set.
But if that went bad most gears wouldn't work.

Easiest way to do some testing would be looking at line pressures while going through the gears and comparing with OEM specs or pull off the valve body and try to engage the clutch packs with an air gun.

Since most manufacturers dont rebuild transmission anymore you are most likely looking at getting another trans or looking a huge bill from a trans shop to do a rebuild. Rebuilding an auto yourself for the first time can be a task and half the time buying a reman will be cheaper anyway.

good luck
