Which one? They've got two going up, one right before Somerset which is gonna have gay stuff like a Geico office, cleaners, and something else. Then they've got one going up right across from my turn(Old Carolina) which is gonna have a Staples, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ross and a couple other things. I'm pretty impressed with the one behind the Target shopping center though. Only thing I know about in that one is a movie theater.


BTW, anybody see or hear about what happened to the Raceway gas station!!!? That portion of Gainesville almost ended up being a crater!

i was talking about both.. yeah i saw the old carolina one saturday which thru me off. i just saw it for the first time, but i havent been on that side of gville in awhile. so no good bars or restraunts are coming


what happen to the raceway

 

Nope, that was what I was hoping for too. Looks like all old lady retail crap. Some lady ran into the gas pump and set it on fire. They had to evacuate the whole gas station and close down that side of 29. This all happened around 3 but I have no clue how the whole thing didnt go up in flames becuase then it would've been interesting seeing how the propane place isnt too far away. If you drive by and the Raceway is on your right the pumps closest to Wendy's but the first one closest to 29 is straight charred. No news coverage though....

from what I understand that raceway might get destroyed anyways since 29 66 interchange is supposed to become a mini beltway projected to be done in 2010 and they are trying to make 29 go over or under the railroad

Yeah I heard about that project as well. I guess 29 is gonna end up like 28.

And no the car didnt blow up. That's probably why it didnt make the news.I guess the news crews dont wanna come all the way out here unless something blows up! LOL!!

 

the rte15 expansion aint gonna be done till 2010 as well...under would be weird. i like that RR in the mornings going to work. it blocks traffic for awhile so i got no problems getting on 66 lol
