In the market for a Jeep Wrangler, anything advice?
I'm not really a "lifted turck" kind of guy normally.. honestly i didn't even notice it was lifted when i first saw it.. is there something wrong with body lifts? just trying to learn a new world here.

like i said the lack of power doesn't bother me much since im just using it to cruise and pull my ski but if the tranny goes out on me that'd be a problem. I'll probably end up doing a swap of some sort down the road... i think i saw a guy with a mustang 5.0 engine in is? is that common? compared to a b series swap how much harder would that be lol?
Putting a small block ford or chevy in one is pretty straight forward. There are plenty of wiring kits/engine mounts/exhaust manifolds/various other bits designed for this application on the market.
I see what you are saying about the ebrake cables, that must be what he was speaking of. Get underneath and see if you can adjust them out some more. Body lifts just look like crap and are considered a cheap way to stuff a little more tire under a rig without much of an investment. Let me try to put in terms easier for you to understand. It is like cutting the springs on your car instead of investing in some coilovers or aftermarket springs; It works but it is by far the least preferred method.

Guess I'll start working on the brake problem tomarrow, thanks for the help guys. I'll be posting back here if I can't figure it out myself.
Like I said earlier... don't believe the hype. The AX5 isn't the strongest trans in the world but for a 4cyl tugging around 33s on light trails or a beach on occasion, you shouldn't have any troubles. If the trans does go out, search Craigslist or PnP for an AX15 (easy swap). There also isn't a damn thing wrong with a bodylift. Cutting springs would have been a better analogy towards blocks and add-a-leafs. With a BL, you get to keep your stock ride. As long as you don't mind seeing a little frame (which isn't bad on a YJ), you'll be happy with it for a light duty Jeep. If you ever decide to build it into a tougher Jeep in the future, you can always source an AX15 and gear down the axles or even do a V8/nv4500 swap + D45s.

oh yea and will the ax15 bolt right up to my 4cyl?
also I hear that it's not supposed to be worth it to just swap in an I-6 from another jeep.. why not? it should just drop right in right? all these other swaps seem to be alot more involved and pricey.

You need some parts from a Dakota to do an AX15 swap. I had that swap planned at 1 point but sold the Jeep instead (and bought a 97 F150... what a turd!!). Cost of a swap?? Depends on what route you go. GM parts will be cheaper and easier to find. Best bet is find a complete donor vehicle and get the Advance Adaptors mounts and harness. To do it right, you'll need the V8, trans, transfer case, both axles incl. welding new perches, custom exhaust, new radiator, upgraded brakes, and a ton of other little doo-dads. Or you could just throw a V8 on the back of an AX15 and wish for the best. Swapping in a 4.0l is completely possible if you find a complete donor but most times you won't find anything in the affordable range to make it worthwhile. Best bet... keep the 4cyl and enjoy owning a Jeep. Keep the top off as much as possible. Pop the floor plugs and park on an incline. Maybe get a bikini for those rainy days (for the jeep... not for yourself).
