exactly. it's a law that people oppose and often ignore, therefore allowing VA to ticket and generate revenue. they aren't going to change laws that make money.

Umm I beg to differ... look what happened to the civil remedial fees. Those generated a hell of a lot more money then window tint tickets...

How old are you?

Seriously? I'm going to wager under 25? Probably under 21 even?

The tint laws won't be changed, same as the ride height laws, the motor swap, the exhaust, front plate etc.

It won't be no matter how many ricers you get to sign a petition, online or not it will not change. The state has no reason to amend the laws, therefore they won't.

Like said earlier, suck it up or move. No one's stopping you from getting those %'s but if you get a ticket for it don't cry on VADriven because Nash pulled you over.

that's why they didnt hold. they were absolutely the stupidest thing ever thought of. a $100 fee probably would have held up.

First you would lose that wager my man. Second I wasnt crying about getting a tint ticket. I never have. I for one am tired about seeing tint ticket threads myself. And if I got a tint ticket it would be no thing to have it taken care of. My gripe is with why the law is at 50% in the first place. Just asking for some stats to back it up cause I've never seen any and after looking around it doesnt make any sense. It cant be soley for police safety, when all the surrounding states are 35%. Im sure they would not put their police at anymore risk the VA. Exhaust, swaps, riding heights and front license plates are all there for some sort noise ordinance or safety reason or whatever, they have a purpose. I dont see this for the 50% tint on the front window...

You don't see the reason, but someone obviously did....

And apologies on the age comment, 99% of the time people trying these things just got their license and want limo tint on their 20 year old civic.

I mean I won't argue with you that it's a lame law but petitions won't do jack - when you have even 1000 people signing something to remove the law but the rest of the populous doesn't care it won't get passed.

Not to mention let's say it does get passed, 35% front 35% rear right? Great! Now the first time a cop gets shot by a driver/passenger of a vehicle with tint guess what? That amendment is gone.

A petition can bring forth an argument of the states justification for the law.

Seriously, you could have said all of this just by giving him helpful insight into the process - that is, if you even have any.

No reason to badger the OP - he's asking a legit question and actually doing it in a decent manner.
