2009 G8 GXP
The 13/18mpg was for the Charger SRT8 not the G8 GXP. Another thing to remember when comparing fuel mileage is the EPA rating system changed in 2008 so all cars rated fuel mileage dropped about 2mpg. My G8 is rated at 15/24 mpg with the A6 and it has the AFM (cylinder deactivation) which helps the hwy mileage mostly. The GXP is not going to have the AFM but my conservative guess would be that the M6 version will come in at 14/22 mpg for the '08 ratings and the A6 a little worse.
Shit still though, my dad has a C6 with A6 and it gets 21/29. The G8 is a step in the right direction for Pontiac, because it like the GTO are based from it's Holden relatives. The fit and finish on a G8 or a GTO outshines almost anything else GM has to offer besides Caddy's.
If you don't believe me sit in one and drive one. Only thing I don't like are the altezza looking taillights and the hidious rims.

Actually the C6 with an A6 is rated at 15/25 MPG by the 2008 rating method. So the G8 GT with 15/24 MPG and GXP at (my estimated)14/22 MPG rating is not so bad considering how much heavier they are. Remember what you get and what its rated at are 2 different things. EPA rating are just a good way to compare cars since you know they were tested in the exact same conditions.
That being said, want to buy a Camaro!?
