I reach 20psi by 4150 now, a tad bit less than 500rpm slower, and yet the car is entirely different. I completely admit that I was wrong in my way of thinking, something that took me years to realize.
I was in a similar situation, but took the plunge to a larger turbo anyway. When I was finally able to blow off all four from a 1st gear roll I never looked back. It's worth the wait . It's all about your perception and how it changes as you continue to upgrade. Years ago no one would of dreamed of slapping huge sized turbos on street cars. The perception of whats considered laggy and streetable has changed drastically.

Any of you DSM'ers want another DSM for your collection???

Have a 95 Talon TSI awd project car. Car is primered, interior is grey with leather seats. No sunroof.

Has 6bolt motor in it, Evo 16g turbo, thermal 3in exhaust, hks 274(I think)cams, side mount intercooler, stock dsm turbo with manifold, aftermarket clutch, short shifter, greddy G2 rear strut bar, Vafc fuel/air controller. Probably some other stuff I am forgetting.

Be a great project car to finish. The motor needs to be put back together. Needs a new headgasket, timing belt. From what the previous owner said is the head bent valves so he took the head off. I got the car like this. Have a complete head for it. Piston tops look to be in good shape.

Located near Harrisonburg, Va if anyone is interested. Not looking to get rid of it so I didn't make a for sale ad. Just thought someone may want it or help me put it together since DSM's are fairly new to me.

Did anyone have a fitting welded on their fuel rail today? I don't think there are many of you guys (DSMers) around here but, someone came in our shop today with a nice Black Eclipse. I don't know trim level and such, it had black wheels also with a polished lip.

When you consider that I'm running a 65-70lb/min capable turbo that spools 20psi by 4100rpm in 3rd gear, and my car revs to 9000rpm without any issue, you realize how wrong you really were about everything. The turbo is easily capable of 9 second quarter mile times, and yet feels happy as can be on a 2.0L on the street all the time, something I never would have believed years ago. 20g is a drag only turbo of course, you'd be insane to try one on a street car.
