the pipe exiting the side of the car was optional. I have had the cutout over a year now and have only scraped it on something once and it was a fairly large speedbump. The scrapes on the flexpipe are from before they cut out was installed.

i have the same setup when THERMAL fabricated my setup.....it was THERMAL suggested it on the spot where it is now and my car runs awesome when shue tuned it, it was just a pain trying to get the wideband on the o2 bong....but other than the loudness when its open its pretty much worth it in my opinion......
