Nurburgring - Nissan GTR - 7'29, Chevy ZR1 - 7'26.4
Google "GTR Vspec Nuburgring". Every other news article (including AutoBlog, which is pretty much THE automotive web based magazine) says it was "bystandards".
When they release an official time that beat's the ZR1, then claim it. Until then, its a guy with a stopwatch on the side of the road.

I could be wrong, but the ZR1 might not be done yet. If you read the article that run was done by one of the test engineers. When they did the run with the Z06 the brought in Jan Magnason one of the Team Corvette drivers to make a run. I wonder if they might do the same again. The engineer also mentions that there were section that he could have gone faster. Another thing to remember is that the ZR1 is doing this on a 220 treadware run flat tire, granted it is a Michelin PS2 but still not one of the real sticky R or Cup tires. I would love to see them make a run with a R tire.

The point is moot.
I'd shoot everyone in this thread to own either one
(Except Ritz....I just want to hug him and love him and call him George)

regardless, it said engineers. you called them "bystanders". every other news article may have said it too...except for this one. so? anyways, that has to account for something. like many others, i'm anxious to see official times myself and won't be disapointed either way
