Look, the bottom line is that as a whole, VW people are.... quirky. Like I've said before, there are some really cool people that drive VWs. However, as a whole it's a very strange community. This is nothing new. I'm not alone on this thought. If you can go to H20, waterfest, or whatever other big VW meets there and you honestly can't see what I'm talking about, then most likely you're one of those wierd people.

From what ive seen from reading the responses of people defending the VW drivers, they sound quite similar to the arguments made by the die-hard Mac users with the comments about being different and unique, etc..

But as far as the wheel fittment arguments, I agree the whole uber stretched tires on rims that are far too big with a lot of poke are absolutely repulsive. Agreed that they do make a little more sense on a RWD or high powered vehicle, but they still don't look all that great in my opinion..

 

I'm not a huge fan of stretch & i'm a vw guy. it can look tits tho if its done right thats fur sure!

I don't think he meant literally retarded. I'm sure you're familiar with the word "retard" being used as common slang. He doesn't need to "broaden his horizon" at all. He has different taste than you do. He has that right. When somebody doesn't like something that you do, it doesn't mean they're closed minded and need to broaden their horizons. It just means that he doesn't like that style. I don't either. I think it's wierd. If I had to bet money, I'd say the guy driving that car is an eccentric wierdo. Could I be wrong? Of course I could. He could be a great guy with a really bad pollen allergy.

You shouldn't waste your emotions on a difference in opinion with someone you've never met in an internet discussion though.
