Allstate Mileage useage verification... Do you HAVE to do it?
Allstate have been sending me a letter for my past few renewals that they want a milage usage verification and want me to send in my odometer reading to them. I do not wish to give this information to them. What negative effects can it have on my policy if I do not record my odometer reading with them?
How many of you guys do it and how many does not?

why wouldn't you want to give them that info? it's not your social security number or anything...i don't see what harm it could have unless you are lying about how much you drive your vehicle.
I'm not sure if it works the same with Allstate but I get a discount on my policy for providing such information with Progressive.
Negative effects...they can refuse to renew your policy. As long as you don't have any gaps in coverage you can easily switch to another insurance company when your policy expires.
Unless you're not being honest with the mileage then there's no reason not to provide them with the information. Every company that I've used has requested mileage information from time to time.

I have never had a company request that...
I'm with Allstate and I'm coming up for renewal, but I have never had them send me anything such as this in the past. We'll see what happens at the end of this month with my new renewal.
Mileage affects the vehicle valuation for insurance purposes. Whats the problem with that?
Are you some paranoid conspiracy theory crackpot that thinks "they" are watching you and collecting all of the useless data "they" can? Better not paint your house a different color, it will go in your file..

Your policy states how many miles you drive to/from work and how many miles per year. Your rates are based on that. If you exceed that amount, you should be paying more for your policy.
If you have an accident and are denied coverage based on your odometer reading, do not be surprised.
