Do you do wierd things to save gas??
I drive my civic, and i'm trying to get the mustang sold... nowadays I4>V8 lol
I get about 30mpg in the civ around town, it's a bone stock d15 with a ebay header and no muffler. The mustang gets about 17 around town and it's got a BBK intake and flowmaster exhaust...

This is what he wrote on another forum...
"On local roads, I usually hit redline before each shift. Corners = downshifting + taking it at limits of traction. (so far I've only been stopped once for taking a corner too fast)
I've been trying really hard to drive slower to save money, but it's hard and I feel like I might as well just get a slower, more fuel efficient car, if I'm not going to be using this car to it's maximum potential.
So around town (no highway), the worst mileage I've gotten is 6MPG. Yeah. 6 mpg. I saw my average-mpg display fluctuate from high 5's to low 6's the entire time.. I went through about 4 gallons of gas driving 25 miles throughout one day."
His next post says:
"Not driving like a maniac: I've been trying to do that for one tank of gas, just to see how much mpg I could get.
I've never been able to finish a tank that way.. but I can get about 14mpg driving as slow as I possibly can (around town, not highway).
As far as doing that regularly.. it's really hard. My work commute is in the opposite direction of traffic (I drive away from DC every morning), and I get 0 cars on my side of the road, so it's hard to keep my foot off the go-pedal."

There's a european car organization(thats owned by the manufacturers), that tested fuel and came out with a list of acceptable brands, some dont use enough detergent(which actually helps mpg and hp), you get what you pay for. My truck hates wawa but loves citgo(same thing...i think), eitherway, I'd rather just get gas on base and save a bit more then the rest of you.
