yeah i'm telling you, that one horribly translated paragraph had me off that website within a matter of seconds for the hyosung. besides, they're more expensive.

and i will be buying a 600 eventually, so this 250 will remain hers, i'll just be fighting her over it for the next few months or so. i will try to ride as many different bikes as i can get a hold of before i purchase my upgrade, but i've always heard great things about yamaha.

Your not gonna get a 250R anytime soon. Unless you are very lucky.

For the entire US the avg. wait for a 2008 250R is about 2-6months.

I also read that people are being wait listed for the 2009 models.

Hope this helps.

Very true. There are a few currently for sale on ebay and the Kawiforums. They sometimes pop up on craigslist from time to time. I have one if you want to check it out in person and see if it's the right bike for you.

Here's my initial impressions of the bike:

apparently there is a waitlist (didn't tell me how long), and the sales guy i talked to has a deposit on the next two black ones (of course, the color i want), and a deposit on a red one, so i'd be 4th in line for that particular dealership. PLUS, he told me that they're getting $5600-6000 out the door for the 250s. L O FUCKING L. that's twice msrp. i'm not that desperate to get a bike.

if you don't mind, pm me with the dealer you got yours from, if you didn't happen to get bent over the desk. i'm absolutely willing to take a 2-3 hour trip to save $2.5k.

I actually got lucky and picked mine up from a private seller. Previous owner said he picked it up from a dealer in NC but I don't know which one.
