Autocross event 7/13
I need me some more torque. The old 305 has a heck of time getting the 3345lbs to move from a slow section.
I was all over the place with my street tires.
I bet the spectators loved the showboating/trying to slow down at the exit.
52.2XX was my best (slips are in the car and I can't remember the exact time).

I had alot of fun too. I need to get used to the amount of grip that race rubber has to offer. My last run i realize that the tires could handle alot more. I also need to learn how to downshift while at the limit. My best time was a 49.3 and i know i could have knocked off another 1-2 seconds.

it was a great day out there - i can't wait to see the results of street tire. Couple of porsche turbos, vettes and Travis' Noble... i was third before the final heat
I head great fun again, too, despite the horrible heat, it just feels so good to let loose with the throttle and turn hard every once in a while.
I was sure pushing the r-compound envelope today, with all the hard braking, and high-speed cornering... probably would have turned out better if I actually had r-comps.
Instead, I was just plowing everyone on these cheap street tires. Maybe one of these races, I'll learn not to overdrive my car, lol... My PB was 51.720, but I know I could have done a lot better.
Were a lot of people being turned away at the gate today? The afternoon was WAY short on people. BTW, you will get turned away at the gate for expired registration- if you've gotten on before with old tags, you're probably just lucky that the guard wasn't looking that hard and didn't notice. They are not lenient about even the smallest things, believe me!

I was wondering whatcha got.
I felt like I left a bunch of time on the coarse as well.
51.4 was the best I could pull off clean on the Falken's...2nd and 3rd syncros are on the way out.So I Need to do a bit of wrenching after Cande's group 1 at VIR in 2 weeks. New motor and Trans along with some polly bushings for the susp. to replace the worn out 190,000+ mile stocker's.
You gona be around for August?

They're used to seeing a lot of NC drivers. You might get through 9 times out of 10, but if they do notice... that's it. They'll often be specifically checking for registration and inspection when they expire, and will turn cars around. I had to get my car reinspected one year because I had thrown away the little pink receipt and they refused to accept the inspection sticker on the windshield as proof of inspection!
Looks like the results are already up:
