Im debating between a Canon Rebel XTI or XSi and Nikon D80. Which one would you prefer or is there one a bit better than the two, so far im leaning towards the D80 but any suggestion would be considered...thanks

what is the reason you're leaning more toward the D80?

what feels best in your hand?

tried looking at consumer reports?

have you ever owned a dslr before? Just saying, because TYPICALLY, the d40 or d40x are normally more suited for beginners.

I have an XTi and like it. Plus, with the release of the XSi out, their prices have plummeted.

Get a used Rebel XT to start with...you can find one with lens for 350 or less.

Good luck.

if you're beginning you don't need to spend as much money for a Nikon D80. Stick with either a d40 or the canon xt. They both can be had used for about $350. The d40 NEW with lens is still $500.
