I think the whole 'ratrod' scene is cool and when it's pulled off in that manner, I think it's amazing and others will agree.
('ratrod' is used very loosely because others will call it something else)
Those shitty rust buckets have probably more time and effort put into them than your DelSol does.

They're just unkept.

i personally think shit like this is ill. sure, it's rusted out and the panels don't match but in a sense it retains all of it's history. every car has a story to tell, and covering it up with a fresh coat of paint hides some of that history. just because a car is rough around the edges doesn't mean that it's unkempt.

The work that goes into dropping a 60's ACVW is more than you will ever do to that delso and leaving some history after a lot of chassis work is fucking badass.
Personally, i dig it more than straightening every panel. I've gone that route and it's boring.
maybe some. but not enough for you to get all butthurt.

Going through the last couple pages, apart from the slammed doublecab there's three or four others in the entire lot that could be classified as ratty and the one ghia with the poor headlight conversion is the only one that actually looks like shit. The beetle on radars is dope as hell with so many classic parts, the square on the ground, even this shot is one of the best photos in the entire thread.
I think a bit of history on a classic car can be just as attractive as a show quality paint job but if you have a problem, don't whine - post what you feel is dope.
