Default tranny question

while driving my tranny sounds like a wind up toy especially in first gear and neutral can someone tell me what that sounds like ive never heard anything like it

i put gm synchromesh in there last week so there is definately tranny fluid in there

Does it get louder progressively with RPM? Initially it sounds as though it is the input (case) bearing, to replace it is simple and cheap enough. Though more information would be helpful.
