13sec 1/4 mile or faster with a LS
Im dropping the 1.8 non vtec LS into my 92 hatch. I have a V-tec harness all ready in the car and im looking to put the V-tec head on soon. My question is, is there anyway to get in the 13 second quarter mile with a V-tec Ls with a built head, I dont want to mess with the block right now, and im seeing if its possable before i do deiced on buying a turbo, thanks.
An ls-vtec should hit high 13's with a stripped interior and sticky tires. Nothing else is needed.
Im going to be putting a stock b18a1 in a stripped ef soon and im hoping for high 14's.

i've already started to take out the interior, only thing i have in there now it the 2 seats, carpet and dash. i've already looked at light weight sheet metal dash. also i looked at the gas tank witch is a 12 gallon tank. 1 gallon of gas is 8.66 pouinds so i think im dropping the stock tank and putting in a 5 gallon fuel cell. This is not going to be a DD so thats why im going with 5 gallon, maybe even 4 gallon tank. Im also running light weight 15's rims right now, 195/50r15 tires. I think im going to stick with the 15's and getting another set of rims for the track, go with some slicks, but will slicks fit under the fender if i have springs on the car?
My JDM r hatch went 13.5's @ 102-103 all day on street tires, full interior, and subs in the back. Only made 178whp. I've built several LSVTEC's that have made 170-190 with stock heads/cams (11.5-12.1 compression)...very possible indeed

stock heads and cams, how do you change the compression rate?
Your looking to do way too much work just to run 13's. Leave the interior, keep stock fuel tank, don't trim fenders, use a cheap pipe for intake, trust me it's not that hard to break 13's. Why do you want to cut your car up?
