I'll stop in at VBAMA's this week. I was slightly disappointed that Hybrid did not have a Brown Belt+ in BJJ, just recently found that out and I'd rather study under a Brown+, though still keeping options open. I'm not in a huge rush, though I've let myself slip out of the 205 weight class and I'm not happy about it, but it's my own damn fault, time to buckle down and get squared away again to say the least.

Jesus, you study at Gustavo's?
Eric Bell is a brown belt in Russian Sambo and incorporates more leg locks and on saturdays they usually have someone who is well versed in wrestling. Many of the instructors have been champions in the WKA. What many people don't realize is that Gustavo Machado isn't actually related to the machado family (Jean Jacques) as far as jiu jitsu goes.

About 150 a month and you're locked into a contract.

I realize it's supply and demand, and that's the going rate, but doesn't the going rate for MMA gyms seem a little insane?

You should check out Eastern Academy of Martial Arts. I've been there for over a year. The training you get is the best I've ever had!!! You gets lots of help b/c the classes are small. The thing I like the best is that every king of the ring fight we've been in we have not lost one. Heres the link to the web site. http://easternacademy.com/

Wasei is a good guy and his brother is cool as well. Their Muay Thai fighter Bryan is a beast.

I believe the only places in the area with black belts are Gustavo's, Linxx, and Eastern. I train at Gustavo's they are the best technical bjj place in this area and one of the best on the east coast.

I am also in the market of finding a decent MMA gym to train at by next year. I was so sold of attending Hybrid but due to this thread im going to visit the other studios and see what they have to offer.

Is there any MMA studios/training around the 757. I used to box and was gonna get back in it, but I'd rather do MMA.

Really...? There were just four or so recommended in this thread alone. Did that question come out right? <grin>
