Your right, and thats why I wanted them. But my parents found out their illegal (inside and out) so their not letting me get them.
I use my car to get from place to place but it's really a nice car to take girls out on dates in. Just the fact that it's a convertible makes them like to ride in it.

So think I'm going to do as you guys said. Lower it and get a new top. I Also want to get a new bumper so I don't have the black bra on it. (I think it will make it look newer and more stock).

I have a few more questions however.
The first is, is it too hard to get a new bumper that will match my car. I don't want my bumper to be a different shade of white than the rest of my car.

Also, I see a lot of mentioning of "I/H/E" What is that?

And finally, I am not very mechanically inclined. All I know how to do is change my oil and rotate the tires. How would I go about learning to replace my top or putting on a new suspension? (other than trial and error).

Just a clarification, they are illegal to have on while moving. While at a standstill there fine. Still ricer, but legal.

Unless your car has like brand new paint or is in amazing condition, it will have faded some, and finding a bumper to match will be a little difficult.

I/H/E = Intake/Headers/Exhaust, arguably the easiest, cheapest and most popular engine mods to a car.

Also, purchase a Haynes Repair Manual for your specific car.

 

so is it turbo or non turbo? I'm guessing non turbo, in which case just do regular maintenance and save up for a GSX or a better platform. believe me, a few years down the road youll wish you hadn't wasted money on a shitty car

 

you're best bet is to fix any issues the car has and just drive it. you'll grow out of most cosmetic mods and performance mods will be unsatisfying. if you like the can then just drive it.

also, you asked earlier why most are against body kits: a majority of them don't go with the car at all. the kit will not compliment the lines of the car and ends up looking tacky. take that with the fact that most on the market fit like garbage and will take lots of money to get proper fitment and good paint make it just not worth your hassle.

 

I don't think I've ever seen a body kit for an eclipse that wasn't completely ricetastic. if anything get a lip and call it a day

 

Please take this opportunity to break the cycle, don't do a bodykit, neons, exhaust or any other gay ricer crap.

As others have mentioned, just fix what needs fixing and save your money.
