I guess if Ukrops was the only grocery store you shopped at it would be worth it. Shopping at Walmart for groceries would probably just even out the difference ya know?

I hate Walmart with a passion btw.

huh? We are talking about two different uses for the word premium here. He was refering to gas, I was refering to the extra money you pay for groceries at Ukrops.

4, plus the addition of super hungry friends. I'm still living at home, so really I'm leeching off my mom buying groceries and then reaping the gas savings from it.

The most you can save with Kroger is .10 per gallon. Ukrops has a MUCH better thing going.

Perhaps not totally, but I enjoy supporting local (or I suppose regional at this point in Ukrops' case) businesses, especially ones that have such a positive impact on the community as Ukrops, rather than save a few bucks and pad the pockets of super-conglomerates like Wal-Mart. If you look at it that way, now you can support them and still make up most of the difference, eh?

I see you're point. However I think you may be misguided in your reasoning.

Wal-mart started out just like Ukrops. A small locally owned store. Yoi shouldn't feel the need to punish them because they are good at what they do (provide products at a low price). They were able to do this better than anyone else, and therefore became a national icon (good or bad connotations).

I dislike wal-mart not because they are a huge company but because of the unavoidable inconviences that goes along with being a low cost leader. Such as poor customer service (having 10,000 cash registers and only 5 of them open) and the incrediably long lines that go along with that. Reasons such as this are why I dislike wal-mart and try to avoid shopping there.

But fuck, if they can do something (in this case sell groceries) better than someone else (ukrops) they SHOULD succeed!
