Ok this is the deal i have a b18c1 i want to rebuilt also i have a jdm b16. Both has the same size bore. Before i open up my b16 up can i use the rods out of the b16 on my b18c1?? For the reason cause my b16 has forged rods. LMK if it dont ,do any body got any for sale
I believe they will bolt BUT the motor will have a very short stoke. This might be ok for boost, but not n/a.
WRONG!
No, you cannot.
The length is fine. They're about 3.5 mm shorter than the B18C rods. However, the Big End width is wider on the B16 than it is on the B18C series engine. So, unless you wish to have them machined, they will not fit. Having them machined may prove that there are strengths in the design that come from the width, so it's not recommended. (But you CAN do that if you wish.)
Stroke would not change, as the crankshaft, not the rods, determine stroke.

buy my CTR pistons and slap them on the GSR rods and crank with a GSR head and run with high compression
