They are very reliable, just need to be sure you do the preventative maintenance to keep them cheap.

The e36 is one of the more solid platforms that BMW made as far as reliability and good design, except the 318 that is.

Looks good Chris, if you need any help working on it or info on the car, let me know.

BTW, they suck turbo'd. So depressingly slow for the power they make...and not very strong for big power out of the box.

all maintenance is up to date, which is one reason i spent a little more than i wanted to.guy had a spreadsheet of all work, along with a stack of receipts.
i have no desire to turbo this thing.it feels somewhat quick, which is fine with me.i think all my other vehicles will outrun it,so no need try to catch up

+1 for the comment about the Ellipsoid's though. I lol'd.
i never was real big on them either.originally i was going to get a TSX for my new daily, but my friend is eat up with the E36 cars, and he got me hooked too.an '08 M3 sedan would be my choice, but they cost a little more!

Not trying to be rude, this is my opinion though.
the K1s are for sale.
BTW-i'm looking for two 245/40-17 tires,as well as two rear DSII OEM wheels,if anybody has a line
these are the OEM wheels i want to have, just have to find two more:

that was more a reference to the fact that pretty much everything else i've owned was a $500 Honda shitbox that i put 400k miles on,so this car has a lot to live up to.i paid towards the lower end of the scale for this car.comparable cars mileage/condition/maintenance wise that i found cost much more than what i have in this.

Can you swap the E46 M3 wheels on? I love those.

The ones pictured above are my second favorite M wheels.

dude, seriously keep the kosei wheels. They are super great strong light cheap track wheels

You will HAVE to put this car on the track at least once.
