I would recommend either a 250/500/650 or something of that size in a V Twin.

A SS bike is a lot of bike to start on and it is known those that start on smaller bikes turn out to be better riders over all. I have seen too many people wreck their SS bikes, or seriously fuck themselves up because they thought they could handle it, and couldn't. Seen a co-worker in the past wreck 2 CBR 600's in 2 months and land up in the hospital for 2 weeks each time. Also take a MSF class as well. You won't be experienced by any means, but you will be a "better" beginner than those that do not take it.

I enjoyed the class and learned a bit too even coming from motorcross bikes. I plan on taking the IRC and ERC in due time.

Uh, I guess technically you could fail the MSF class but you have to be not paying attention at all to anything to fail their written test.

About how much would insurance be for a 28yo (homeowner, no moving violations) on a 2009 Hayabusa?
