Ft Eustis ??
I cant wait to get my orders too. Im training to become a 92G at the DFAC as a cook. Im gonna pretty much be a kitchen Master when its all said and done. Good times and horrible food will be had by all
True. It sucks when you can't trust the people in your own platoon, or truck for that matter. On my last desert vacation we did gun trucks. Thank god I had a good crew. There are many stories of gunners getting punched in the balls by the TC for screwing up or choking up in the turret, and gunners kicking drivers in the head for hitting every damn pothole in the road and throwing them all over the place. Also times when the TC would choke and the gunner or driver would have to get on the radio and run things when the shit hit the fan. It just makes shit that much more stressful when you are stuck with a crew that is incompetent.
then the LTC is cussing out captains when a gunner fires 7 rounds with a .50 cal and the cpt is cussing out everyone else etc...
and the towel heads think we are scared to shoot, so they hit us again the next day etc....
yea, i salute the convoy teams, i got stuck in s-3 and they wouldn't let us out.
roushburgers, roushbrowns, roush mystery meat.

The ROE's suck extremely bad. It is setup to pretty much put soldiers in danger, and only allow someone to defend themselves if "shit hits the fan". And even then, after its all said and done, you are on the red carpet, trying to explain to sgt maj. and a full bird,or LTC why you were trying to make sure no one got killed.
Has anyone been to iraq in the past year? alot has changed since the first time i was there in 04, it seems like all we do is pay them money and give them weapons! anybody else seem to think that?
I came back in April of this year. The ROE's suck. Of course it depends on what unit/location you are assigned to,but still.
yeah i just got back at the end of September i didnt go with a unit from eustis i got attached to 1AD out of germany, that crap has gotten out of hand we have been there how long and its like i get the feeling the second we pull out we are going to have to go right back. they are still sissys we need to get out of there and focus on afcrackistan. that is where the real dick heads are, Iraq is just a big shit hole.
I just hate how when you are in the city and those dickheads are firing out of the windws in the buildings, and you can't fire back for fear of "collateral damage". Fuck that. We should be able to light up the whole goddamn neighborhood if we start taking fire. If the civilians don't want rounds coming through their walls, then maybe they ought to turn in the asshole that lives next door and fires at our convoys every other night. I'm not condoning trying to kill every living thing in the area, but we should be able to agressively defend ourselves. Then the people would recognize that we aren't fucking around, and decide that maybe it isn't such a good idea to allow that insurgent shit in their neighborhoods.

Well collateral damage mainly pertains to the "kill everything on sight" motherfuckers that like to launch 203 rounds into buildings,or shoot the 50 cal or 240 at insurgents. Usually if someone fires at you,it doesnt matter where they are at,if you get PID,and someone says "engage" then they will get lit up. Now what weapon you decide to use,is the big factor in if you cause CD or not. But it really doesnt matter now anyway, Iraq has calmed down a LOT since OIF 1,and now the focus is Afghanistan (go fucking figure). I just hope im not one of those 30,000 troops they are trying to send there next year. We are scheduled to go to iraq (I wont say where, but its a pretty nice FOB,named after a big snake) and all I keep hearing about afghanistan,is FOBs getting attacked and overan by insurgents. That shit doesnt happen in Iraq.
