jack up the rear of the car, spin one tire, the opposite tire should rotate the other direction(i believe)

80 was obviously an exaggeration. When I said 40 I meant he's not even going to be getting sideways for long at those speeds. Or am I missing something else??

A completely stock 240 with a nice LSD (clutch type) will have no problems sliding. It is best to learn with less power anyway. I first started out with a KA-Turbo car making like 220whp. My current car was completely stock when I got it and I learned a lot more control and technique with the stock KA in it. Now I have a stock SR and I can go faster - other then being able to go faster there really isn't much difference between the SR and KA - not for someone starting out.

A Z28 Camaro will make a great drag car, get something with IRS for drifting. It just so happens 240s are a decent weight, have a nicely designed suspension and are easy to slide. Do yourself a favor and use that.

Buy a LSD, some coilovers, rear camber and toe arms, and tension rods - get an alignment, and buy an extra set of wheels and you'll be set for starting to drift in a 240. (That is ideally as well, you don't NEED the coilovers or suspension arms, it just lets you set the suspension up right.)

Also - do yourself another favor and attend some Auto-Xs, they'll let you get used to the limits of the car.

FWIW Torque arm suspensions do no make good drifters. You'd have to change the rear end geometry in order to turn an f-body into a decent drifter.

NP.

Most of the people in this thread have no concept of what drifting is.

Believe it or not, there is a difference between drifting and powersliding.

However, nothing I say will matter, as you all are convinced of your methods, yet still asking.

Thus I am amused.

LOL, I never even though about the difference. I looked it up and now I know. And as we all know. Knowing is half the battle.

Fair enough.

And for the record, there's no way a beginner drifter would be better off getting an f-body instead of a 240. I'm just saying that they do have some advantages.

despite what I first thought, My friend let me drift his z28 and I was actually shocked at the amount of controll you had sideways. Stock to Stock the z28 in my book is a hell of alot easier to drift. But with any mods 240sx all the way.

But to answere your question, its more about the driver, so it's up to you either you can drift it or you cant. hahaha got the fealing im going to be flamed
