It could be fun drifting a sled like the Z28.. then again, that is kinda like driving a pink CRX to our meets.

A S13 would be a great learner car for someone on a budget. The S14 has much better weight distribution (and style) than the S13, but the price might discourage the novice from purchasing it since you WILL **** **** up.

$0.02

It isnt all horsepower. Reason people dont usually drift supras. Its vehicle weight, balance, I mean there is A LOT more than horsepower. Vaughn Gitton Used to race a 69' Comaro (i think it was 69). Now drifts a Mustang. You can either be a drifter, or a guy who drifts a Z28. S-chassis has GREAT drift platform, thats why most Pro's use them. S-chassis, Z, and AE...MOST drifters.

Which is the reason why a "under-powered" AE86 can out drift a "powerful" R32/33/34.

The entire point of drifting is to control a vehicle that is out of control. Weight, suspension, tires (ie. traction), brakes, and throttle control make a good drifter. Adding more power just means the vehicle will be able to maintain a drift at higher speeds.

Don't get it twisted now, a drift is a drift. Some just look better and react faster than others.

Personal point: I'd take a side-draft carb'ed, or Turbo & Supercharged, AE86 over a Chevy/Dodge/Ford to drift at the track any day of the given week.

If you want to know about drifting a Camaro go to www.ls1.com there are a few threads on there to educate yourself with. It's hard to ask these questions on a non specific platform forum like this. You'll have hateraide on both side.

I'm a camaro owner and I'll be the first to tell you that although they "can" drift, they aren't the best for it.
