to answer the question....yes...they both lag at the same time.

Yeah, I'm not sure how useful the test will be with only a few people at a time using the new software. I might just force everyone over to the new software at some point.

You would have gotten nothing on the old software as the server was lagging bad just now. There's nothing like double digit load numbers
