Should tell you to don't talk if you don't have anything useful to say.

Thanks for the help people. I guess I'll be taking it to a dealer.

Your first mistake was thinking that you would receive constructive feedback on this forum. Try a subaru forum.

I've driven in enough snow to last most of you 2 fucking lifetimes.

There's nothing wrong with your car.

It's a combination of snow and the ABS. I could go into the physics of the whole deal but most of your heads would explode

I'm guessing that because of the better braking force in the front, you're locking up the fronts because you're probably not using tires that are good in the snow. Locking the fronts way before the rears would cause the ABS system to freak out, and it might have problems modulating the brakes because of the difference in fluid volume and pressure with the aftermarket front calipers. It's hard to get an ABS system to trip unless you've unbalanced the brake system somehow and then get into a front/rear differential speed situation. See where I'm going with this...?

The hard pedal and crunching sound is similar to what my WRX brakes do when the ABS system intervenes, but mine modulate properly. I also have good snow tires and stock calipers and I know how to drive in the snow. I can't get my ABS system to trip unless I skip across a pothole or something like that under braking. Again, it's all about differential wheelspeed from front to rear or on an individual wheel.

It sounds like your ABS is doing what it's supposed to, you're just making its trip conditions really easy to reach.
