Im seriously considering the military. Im meeting with a recruiter later on to check out the National Guard. Now, I myself am thinking the Navy or Air Force since I have been told by someone how is currently active and has been for quite some time, that there would be more chances that i could be stationed here at home. Which will be cool since VA isnt exactly where i want to be in the first place. Im actually planning to move to maryland in the next few months after i get my shit together. I just need someone completely honest to inform me of some things to look forward to as far as traveling options and so on. Just trying to get some different feedback/opinions on the whole subject. Serious need only apply, please.

go in the air force they got it easy and make the same money i do.....i cant complain though this is a great easy job and ill be retired when im 37.......

I have been thinking a lot lately about a Fascist government replacing our current...and have decided joining the military is probably a bad idea. However, it is still a providing job for a family...I have mixed feelings I guess!
IF TRAVELING IS WHAT YOU WANT, then surely you might see the world though!!

 

Another note,
You mention you are seeing the National guard recruiter...have you spoke to navy/airforce already?


The NG recruiter will probably try and talk down the other branches, etc.. also...

Ok.....first off, whatever the recruiter tells you will be greatly exaggerated. The military is an awesome career, and I enjoy being in the Marines thoroughly. But, it's a huge step that you should sit down with those closest to you and discuss. It is a life changing move, no matter which branch you choose, because essentially the United States Government will own you for the duration of your enlistment.

To be blunt and completely honest, we aren't the people to be talking to about this. Sit down with your family/closest friends, and see what they think. Truly, their opinions are the ones that should matter most, aside from your own of course.
