More or less, except they weren't banging on the door, they were breaking down the door with a battering ram. Frederick and all witnesses say the police did not announce themselves. And this was at nighttime.

10 years for a guy with no priors acting in self-defense, what a bunch of crap.

It sucks for Fredrick, he got screwed by the CPD. I always thought that most drug busts go down after the cops send an informant into the house to buy weed. The informant leaves the house after the buy and the cops rush in and make arrests. The CPD busted in this house without any witnesses saying they bought weed from Fredrick. It really just doesnt make sense, I really hope the CPD will start doing some homework before they go busting into the next house. I wonder who at the CPD said yes this is a great idea and approved the raid, because that guy/girl should be fired and if it was shivers who approved this then he got what he deserved for not being thorough enough and doing a half assed job.

He deserves to die? If that's what you honestly think, I feel terribly terribly sorry for you.

I think he was absolutely growing and dealing drugs. Only a retard would dispute that. But I really have my doubts the cops announced themselves since drug enforcement officers are probably the shadiest cops around. Remember a few months back when some California cops planted drugs on a kid and the whole thing was recorded on the camera located in the car port? And the kid's attorney waited until open court to present the tape so it would be a matter of public record?

I support the war on drugs but not so much the officers charged with carrying it out.

Im just saying that because cops live in a life and death world and when they are not thorough when doing their job it usually ends badly. Maybe deserves was too strong of a word, but the outcome of this unfortunate situation is not surprising considering that lack of due dilgence that was performed before executing this raid.

I don't think, but maybe you can correct me, that there was any admission that he was dealing.

i never said anything about dealing, just growing which he lied about. Jebsurf stated unless i was there i can't be 100% sure but he admitted he was growing them later in the trial and that he was sorry for lying.

regardless if he was growing or not thats not the issue the issue is wether or not the police announced themselfs and whether he new it was the police or if he was shooting in self defense. yes the drugs are what brought the cops there in the first place but the trials mane objective is to determine if he is guilty of killing the cop or if he was within his rights to shoot.

the police said they announced themselves 4 times with a 4 sec. interval between each announcment thats ruffly 12 secs. so look at it this way you are laying in bed sleeping all of a sudden u hear beating at the door you get up grab your gun and walk to the front of house and at that time u see a hole in your front door with a arm reaching thru trying to unlock your lock - remind you his home was just broken into 3 days prior

all this happening in lets say 12 secs for the knocks and to get woken up another 10 to get gun and run to front of house and see a arm coing thru your door thats 22 sec. thats not a whole lot of time What Would You Do?
