No, you won't be melting your pistons. You'll be wasting a lot of gas and losing power. You should be careful who you listen to, many people have some really bad ideas about what to do and why. There is sooo much misinformation getting spread around, and people just believe it and pass it along without knowing any better.

Ok first off I would suggest buying good condition used parts.. It might take some time to find what you want used in good condition but it will be cheaper. Also someone stated above that all motor wasnt worth it... Well its deff not as cheap as boost but if you want to go all motor then its worth it. I would start with the basic bolt ons. Intake, header and exhaust... from there decide if those mods were worth it.. If they were to you move onto the next mod.. If you come to a point where your like wow the mods ive done really wernt worth it... Then reconsider your plan..

The three biggest tips I can offer is get a shorter geared tranny.... Do everything right the first time... and listen to fabrik8... dude knows his shit not to ride anyones nuts.

 

So pretty much every member on here suggested starting with a new tranny. I think you know where to start.
