A girl that I work with her car took a dump on her. It's a 93? DA Integra. Its throwing the code for the knock sensor. What its doing apparently, it will run fine for a few mins then it will sound like its running on 1 or 2 cylinders. We pulled off 3 plug wires and sounded about the same. We pluged them back in and turned the car off, turned the car back on and it ran fine. Can the knock sensor do that?

It's also throwing the code for IAC, but that doubt that will have any effect on how her car is running now. Odd though because it idles perfectly fine.

Any help would be awesome, she is in need of her car and its just sitting in the parking lot.

 

IAC will cause the car to run like shit.
Knock sensor code is stupid, it won't cause anything to happen.
I've seen several cars idle fine, but the IAC be bad and it cause the car to run bad.(all were obd2 cars)

 

Oh okay. It's a 90 Integra by the way.

Someone told me that knocks sensors only come on cars after 92. How is that possible if its throwing a code for it.


Well she had to towed off to a shop to have it looked at, I was just trying to save her some money.

 

i would take off and clean iacv then re install. reset ecu then see what happens. if it still throws the code for a iacv then replace.

 

Damn. I woulda fixed it for less than 50 bucks.
Depending on how cute she was.

 

bad plug wires..?? happened to me one time and had the same symptoms..

 

New wires/plugs. When I first heard of the problem I assumed it was something to do with the distributor.

 

I was going to text you but it slipped my mind.

And she is iight, not great not bad. lol
