You can still use any one of a number of the AEM units for that car, it just won't necessarily be plug and play. That's all AEM really does is just take one ECU design and put different connectors on it to fit a particular car. There are sometimes other very slight differences but it's basically the same ECU for many different cars.

There are also a lot more brands of ECUs on the market, don't feel limited to just one. The tuning is pretty much the same no matter what.

And yes, stay clear of piggybacks like the E-Manage. Fooling the ECU and overriding the ECU signals is never a great idea.

Turbo or supercharger, you still need tuning. Well, unless you're planning on slapping on a rising-rate fuel pressure regulator, and I know you're probably much smarter than that.

The comptech and JRSC kits come with a reflash from hondata.

For the turbo kits greddy comes with emanage ultimate which is fine if you can find someone who can tune it. You can also use aem fic which is what the tsi guys use.

You need to go on 8thcivic.com and do you research. This site won't have very much helpful advice on this subject.

You can use aem ems but you will pay out the ass for someone to make a harness. You can also use k-pro but that requires a lot more modifications and only one shop has been able to pull it off so far.

Also if you plan to supercharge it IMO go with the JRSC. The price plus power is a major plus. Plus the ability to run an aftercooler which isn't possible on the comptech manifolds.

The greddy kit to get it at 300whp will cost you around 4800-5000 for everything needed. That is if you don't hit major problems or need to keep retuning. I just priced it all out because i was 2 seconds away from purchasing everything.

Interesting. That means that Hondata has cracked the program already, and can reflash the ECU. That means there isn't any need for a K-Pro, because I'm assuming the reflash is done through the OBD2 port. So I expect Hondata will eventually release some software for tuning, but that could be debatable. Hondata makes their money on software, and without and need for any hardware to protect their intellectual property (that's one of the primary functions of the S100/200/300 boards, they may not put out any software.

The reflash is done by sending your ecu you to hondata to have your ecu reflashed. Once it is reflashed there is no way for you to mess with it. They give you their tune for the kit you are running or the basic n/a reflash. The only reflashes available are for the n/a ( which does nothing to max whp just mid range ),ajp kit, comptech, and jrsc.

It is pretty cool though on the new stage 2 kit that is coming out very soon for comptech. The reflash will be able to correct itself if you change the pulley etc.

They have the ability to run k-pro on this car but it must be run like the new tsx's and s2ks. Running a dual ecu setup to run the dash/motor. They just haven't released any information yet which they won't until it is released.

^ Thanks for stating that 07civicSI, I probably should have noted that in my post

Because of the reflash already available for the ECU for the supercharger it's the best boost option currently.

I'd say wait until there are good reflash solutions available for local tuning. $5k is a lot of money to drop for only 300WHP. I'm kind of cheap, but I just want more for my money than that.
