Yes, I could be killed just driving down to the local gas station, but doing 150+ in and out of traffic just increases your chances dramatically. What do you get out of hitting speeds that fast on public roads with other people? What if they don't see you coming and they turn into your lane? It may be an entire family you killed. Obviously no matter what I tell you guys will change your minds on the subject. I just think it's really stupid.
Just go to a track, auto-x, drag, whatever. Atleast you know there's people watching and expecting someone to hit a wall or hit another person. There are medical and fire personnel immediately available aswell.
