I'm in Christiansburg. Probably going to go check out Roanoke this weekend though.

 

Roanokes only slightly better than c-burg. Nashville is awesome!

If you want nightlife this is honestly probably not the place to look. :P

Depends on what you mean by nightlife. If you mean 50 night clubs on "da strip" then yea you are right. But downtown Roanoke has it's own neat little culture and things to do, and there is plenty of other things to do in the valley. Just depends on your hobbies. Outdoor sports? Lake sports? Shooting sports? car stuff? etc..

 

Oh yeah I forgot about everything that closes before 10.

Chuck-e-Cheese? Um its actually more fun than it sounds.

Thunder Valley? Not bad for an arcade+putt putt.

Taubman art center? ROFL!!

Cars? Honestly no unless you like riced out civics neons and rusted lifted trucks all driven by people who were born in the 90s. Lots of clean well modified cars rarely come out. THe cool weekly gathering at Fast Freddies was Killed by the developer of some new shit we dont need in this econ. Oh yeah almost forgot the 4.6 mustangs with straight pipes that drive like they are the shit.

Va transportation museum? Im not in middle school anymore.

Center in the square? See above.

How about Corned beef? Hellloooo meat market. Sadly best “club” in Roanoke.

Metro? Oh yes if I want a nice dinner; as a Club hit or miss.

202? You want me to pay $10 to get in? Where the fuck do you think you are LOLOLOL.

Cornerstone? Good as long as its not too crowded.

The Mall? Yeah… lets just leave that one alone.

Martins/Schooners/Awefuls? Typical bars.

The lake? Last time I checked that shit is crowded over there.

Shooting? Hmmm don’t know to much on this one other than I hate indoor ranges and the nearest one to Roanoke is way out on 311. However for Cburg there is a range within 30minutes driving time from my house this makes me happy.

Speaking of 311 that’s an awesome road for some spirited driving, along with bent mountain road (wife hates it), the parkway, twelve o’clock knob, and that one that runs over by Valhalla vineyards(don’t remember the name even though I work next to it.)

Ukrops? The played place out to get good pictures. There are tons of others that nobody wants to take the time it requires to get good high quality pictures. (No I will not tell you where they are either)

There are some great golf courses around the area though.


Um... and to keep it on topic heres my car. :P

 

Like I said, I guess it depends on your hobbies, if you are stuck in get drunk and party every night mode, I can imagine that would get old quick with the limited choices of places to go in Roanoke.

Good thing I never went through that phase.

You've gotta be a smaller guy. I couldn't imagine my fatass getting out of that car. It looks pretty low.. looks even lower in person. Perhaps it's just you rolling onto 419 that makes it sit so low.

What's it.. about 4" Can you fit a soda can under that motherfucker?

And Roanoke does suck.. there are some good bars(martins, etc).. there are some pretty good bars on williamson and hersh.. but it's mostly older people. I've yet to find a bar where people under 40 drink at regularly. A divorced 40 year old female is not my definition of a fun night.. heh

 

Um. not really sure how low it is this year, its an inch or so higher than last year in the front though. I would be rolling cans last year, not sure right now.

It started off with about 3.5 inches of fender gap.

I weight about 160 and dont have much fat on me. :P
