DIY: gsr build
i did everything to spec and sequence, but when i turn the crank it has a drag. Its kinda hard to turn at the beginning but eases up. I can only spin it with the torque wrence. A 3/8 and regualr 1/2 in drive wont spin it. Only the torque wrench. All new rings and bearings. Shall I take it apart and do it again? Or is it supposed to drag then loosen up when its started up? All the clearances are just right. Also the bearings r oiled up with 30w.
yeah somethings not right. How are the cylinder walls? Who honed them and what did they use? I know the diy hones from advance tear the cylinder walls up and makes them really rough which causes the same problem but not as bad.

That's just one measurement, but there are a total of 9 bearing surfaces that should be checked (5 crank bearings and 4 rod bearings). Is it 0.0015 for all of those?
are the main bearing caps in the correct direction and order? are the rod caps in the correct direction along with the rods and on the rods they came off of? if they were honed, they still need to go with the proper rod. did you mic on the bearings just to make sure they are what they say they are? they are most likely right, but no harm in making sure. did you use oil or lube on the inside of the bearings and crank journals? may seem like some stupid things to check, but just throwing some out there.
