I really liked the guys and REALLY wanted to make em my go to place , but I can't afford to get burned a 3rd time especially on a customer project, not my own.

I'm sorry to hear about that been with them for years, but no problems for me.

Davis is well priced, and nice guys, but my one time going there he pushed back the deadline a couple times for a single cylinder head resurfacing. Overall I was happy with the work done, but I've heard from more experienced engine builders that Davis isn't the most precise with their work.
Mundy is your best bet by far; more expensive than Davis, but he's as good as they get.
I would also recommend Wayne's Machine Shop off hull street.

i have used davis quite a few times with good results but they did majorly fuck up a big job for a friend of mine :/ somehow managed to bore the cylinders the wrong size even tho they had the pistons in hand for the motor ?!?! got me on that one. i nowhere is perfect. they all make mistakes from time to time!

Exactly! What sets people apart is how they handle it!
