i would have to say ford, alot of kids at my school have em, put on a chip and stack and seems to open them up well, but then again they are just fan boys for black smoke. my friends that do land scaping have no trouble towing a 28ft enclosed with lawn equipment in it

if you would like i can let you drive my 6.0 and maybe work it so you can drive a 7.3. i drove a d-max in stock trim, i like the ford better. i can prolly set it up for you to drive a d max as well. i know people that have purchased the d max for towing only to sell it and buy a ford.
Why haven''t you ever offered to let me drive it but can let total strangers drive it lol

unless it will consistently have at least 5klbs behind it on a daily basis, dont waste your time and money.
+1 probably half of diesel owners use their trucks no where near their capability and more of a status thing

if i were in your shoes I would be looking at 2500 chevys with the 6.0/allsion combo

Remember its stopping power too here.

Goose-neck or a tow behind, makes a big difference in how a truck drives/handles.

I haul equiptment all the time on a 00 and 01, 3500 cummins with tandem gooseneck. Great trucks, like pple are saying its a great motor pulls the same empty as loaded. Greatest investment is the Jake brake option when your hauling 30,000 lbs flying down the road. Does GMC or Ford offer this, anyone?

Transmission is a little finicky especially reverse. Just replaced the clutch at 180k on one, the other does lighter hauling and feels like new.

Biggest thing is the steering issue on these models but other than oil and filter changes, one rear end seal, and the damn easy to break parking brake releasers nothing comes to mind.

But it all depends what you will realistically do with it.

Happy buying.

Im not exactly a huge diesel nut, i like what they can do and the shit they offer, but these spoiled ass kids act like blowing black smoke and beating stock honda's makes their truck fast. I would argue with them almost every day at lunch about that shit.

i met the owner at a truck pull, they for the most part, order the same parts that you can get online but they do the installs for people. my buddy had a rough time with him.

yep, they throw stacks, a chip, a sticker, and call it a hard days work, i forget what chip they put in the trucks, but im assuming the only reason they use it is because they get it for cheap and mark it up alot
