i have headers and a gutted cat. but trust me on those motors its been proven over and over that they make more power with a cut out. i still have stock piping. and i have a klze manifold and nitrous. but thats the only time i open it is when i am at a track or a set up race. but lets get back on topic
No seriously, it sounded horrible. As soon as you left the pits all you heard was laughter. I know that was your first time out, but to be the loudest (maybe 2nd in comparison to that RSX) and then have a hard time moving around the track makes you the joke of that race.
My advice, just drive your car around there with the cut out closed, learn the track, get better, faster and more wise of how your car will react, then if at all necessary you can open it. But it does sound really bad.
