Tires were the first thing I changed. (And, so far, only thing, aside from a slight DIY realignment in the front to give as much camber as I get get in AS class, about -1 degree; no sense paying someone else to just push it to the stops for me.) I heartily recommend Dunlup Z1 Star Specs, if you're sticking to street tires, but there are some other tires out there, some even faster (Kuhmo's new tire is apparently just AWESOME in the dry kicking serious ass, but awful in the wet.). And who knows what else will be out by next year. By the end of the season, you may be itching for some r-comps, though
No matter what tire you get, it will never be grippy enough. I feel like I'm on ice, too; just a result of driving on the edge of traction. How are your tire pressures, have you gotten them dialed in yet?

As far as tire pressure goes i didnt mess with it the first time out, just wanted to drop my balls and make it out lol. Ofcourse i got hooked. Yesterday i ran what i did last time 40psi for my first 2 laps and i got a time i was pretty damn happy with 42.349. So i said what the hell lets mess with the pressure so i dropped it down to 30 and i didnt feel much of a difference, i will mess around with it next time for sure.
Also quick26, i dont know how you pulled that run off either, it was sick for sure man! Im sure ill see you guys out there agian! Would like to make the next acu4 but it will depend if i wanna work all night autox then sleep before i work agian that night.
thats why i dont work sundays. started to change the clutch last night and should have the flywheel out tonight to get it resurfaced and then should have everything finished by wednesday.
Yep, PAX matters!
Re: tire pressure; I wouldn't recommend dropping it to 30 quite yet. Start at 40, chalk your tires, and go from there; the optimal pressure is *probably* close to the lowest pressure you can get away with without tire roll-under, but it will take some trial and error to get it right. It's easier to bleed out than it is to add, though. I'd also recommend taking notes so that you don't forget what you learned, or else you'll come to the next race getting all the previous numbers confused. Keep consistant with which guage you use, too, as no two guages ever agree- in this case, it's mostly trial & error, so it doens't matter, as long as you're consistant.
