Default sr20det issue need help ASAP!

My sr is building boost, but will not blow off through the bov.
I have an hks that has been on the car for awhile now, and have never had any issues before. The car idles ok, revs, and builds boost, but then surges the compressor. I am pulling a good amount of vaccuum. I checked my ic piping and its tight. This car is my daily, so I need to figure this out. PLEASE HELP!

If the only issue with the car is not blowing off, it sounds like you may have a ruptured diaphram in your blow off valve. It's not likely though, because your idle would suffer from a ruptured diaphram, as it would cause a vac. leak.

I had the same problem on an old hks ssqv. The diaphram was bad and not letting the bov open. buy a vaccum pump from advance and check to see if the bov opens or hold vac

What causes this to happen? I have the new style ssq. Is it rebuildable or am I fucked out of a 5 month old bov?

Apparently they're available, because it looks like HKS has a part number for just the diaphragm.

Google found this with the part numbers: http://www.hksusa.com/content/pdf1583.pdf

I didn't look any further than that..

By the way, check to see that the whole unit isn't seized up, that's basically the only other thing that can really fail on a BOV other than the diaphragm. They're pretty simple devices without a lot of parts.

What exactly should I look for when I take it apart?

Torn stuff. The diaphragm is usually a rubbery mesh looking thing. Youre looking for tears in it.
