Cycle whore thread
I hated that phone call, but I'm really glad you're okay. Didin't sleep much after that. Maybe 3-4hrs out of usual 10. Sucks being 6-7k miles away when this happens, but guess it'll happpen anytime/anywhere. If you were seriously injured I would've been at my 1st Sgt's door in 30mins... unshaven, out of uniform, shaky, and on a plane to VA ASAP. Glad you called; def call me anytime. I'll take sleep deprivation anyday, I'll leave my group of buddies, I'll leave dinner/movie with a girl, and so on. Anyways, whew, so relieved you're okay.

I didn't believe him one bit at first because he was WAY too calm. Then as I rounded the corner and saw everything I was like "wow, this couldn't have went any better." Definitely a scary situation.
Damn Jake, glad you made out the way u did, definitely could have been worse. Hope u heal up quick and get back on two when u can. From reading that post before seeing the pics I was thinking the bike would be lookIng a whole lost worse, not too bad tho. Kudos to all those that helped out.
Thanks man, sliding into the guard rail was something I was really glad I managed to avoid. Im sure you can imagine how much hell im catching already about wanting to fix the bike. People dont stop driving because they get into an accident ya know?
and BTW im better about gear than I used to be, im always wearing everything but the jacket, that has been something im wishy washy on. Never again.

My friend Crash was the same way. He has been down alot... and always seemed to manage to find a soft spot to land. Except this last time... he went down on his 09 R1 and went sliding down the road in a rolling fashion. Did not get beat up real bad but he is feeling it now. And bitching every day about how it is uncomfortable and hurts. He will wear gear now... I am sure of it.
I know everybody wants to look cool and show off your tatoos to the chicks. Chicks can't see your muscles threw your jacket, and all that shit.
But it is really not worth it in the long run. I would wear a mesh jacket at a minimum.
no supposed to give yourself the name.. it is given to you by others. Like Crash was given his.. and I was given Psycho Rich... mainly because there are alot of Rich's that ride and I am the dumbest.. LOL...
He's lying (Jake D). Ed Higgins and his other buddies in 8th grade gave him that name. Haha. I'm slow, and just caught onto "Mr Burns".
