how about when people start FS threads in clear violation of the rules instead of locking them they disappear?

 

Not sure if this has been stated and not implemented because of the bandwidth or whatever, but it there a way users could "chat" like how facebook's is?

 

ok in light of the 4-5 year old threads that have been bumped today only by 09ers noless...

anyway we could implement something so that once a thread has no replies in say ...30 days that it gets blackholed???

and maybe for instance the only person that could bring it back would be the op of the thread...say a forsale thread that he just doesnt bump but its still for sale...i myself have done that...

but we need something...this replying to 3-4 year old threads is retarded

If it's ancient inside joke old stuff just lock it after 6 mos

Chances are that the person has taken care of the problem, even though 30 days is a little short. I think three months is decent time, after that just pm the person.

Bumping old threads need to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. Yes, in general its pointless and the thread will just end up getting closed, but occasionally someone offers some useful information.

For now (and the foreseeable future) the only automatic closing/deleting of threads are in Road Kill and SPO.

 

I think that newbs should have a longer trial membership, have no access to for sale at all, (if they dont already, sorry) also a vote in would be fun for new people Older members vote in if a new member can 1. stay or is 2. banned before the trial is over, or 3. they stay trial for a longer period as a second chance!
